⚠️ Status, checked 2 October 2026: netnut.io shows a page titled “Seized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation”, as it has since 2 July 2026. Google says it acted against the NetNut network “in coordination with the FBI, Lumen, and others”. NetNut’s parent, Alarum Technologies, said it would “fully cooperate with law enforcement”. On 4 July 2026 it announced a “Temporary Operational Pause of Certain Network Services”, and on 13 July it said it was “actively evaluating alternatives to restore service availability”. As of 2 October 2026 we found no public announcement of criminal charges against NetNut or Alarum. ProxyPicker does not rank or recommend NetNut while it is unavailable.

Why was NetNut seized?
On July 2, 2026 the FBI seized NetNut-associated domains in an action Google says it took in coordination with the FBI, Lumen and others. Google’s Threat Intelligence Group describes NetNut as a residential proxy network also known as Popa, of at least 2 million devices, used by threat actors. Alarum, NetNut’s parent, said it was cooperating with law enforcement and on July 4 announced a temporary pause of the affected network services. As of October 2, 2026 we found no public announcement of charges against NetNut or Alarum. The dated chronology is in our botnet & takedown timeline.
Can I still access my NetNut account or get a refund?
As of our last check (2026-10-02) netnut.io still serves an FBI seizure notice, and Alarum has described the affected services as paused. We have not verified any working account portal or refund path and will update this page when we can verify one.
How do I avoid the next NetNut?
Prefer providers that document how they source residential IPs (opt-in SDK disclosure, ethical sourcing pages) and that survive KYC scrutiny. We are adding a sourcing-transparency column to the dataset.
